‘Gene Williams Show’ features Country Junction Band, David Byrd, Bob Wilson

The next telecast of the Lucas Oil Products sponsored "Gene Williams Country Television Show" features Gene’s band, the Country Junction Band and two of its members David Byrd and Bob Wilson.
"I totally enjoyed focusing on my band these past few weeks. I have one of the best bands around and this week, David Byrd on keyboard and Rob Wilson on the drums are featured soloists. Rob has performed with Ronnie Prophet and Dalena Ditto. His portrayal of Freddie Fender is hilarious. David is from the Grand Ole Opry stage and has performed with Box Car Willie and is in the Doug Gabriel Band," said Williams the star, creator and producer of the "Gene Williams Country Television Show."
Started in 1963, the "Gene Williams Show" is broadcast to 20.5 million homes nationwide from Branson, Mo. where it is taped live before a studio audience from the Ain’t Misbehavin’ Theatre.
A 2003 National Telly Award winner, the "Gene Williams Show" features celebrity guest stars performing with his band, the Country Junction Band, and in up-close-and-personal interviews with Williams and his co-host Katie Lynn. The show with Byrd and Wilson will be televised on Saturday, July 30, and Sunday, July 31. (EDITORS, CHECK YOUR LOCAL STATIONS LISTED BELOW.)

The three half-hour shows will be taped live before a studio audience. Admission is free.

National Atomic Veterans Day of Remembrance Ceremony set

The 60th anniversary of the first atomic explosion and all veterans who were exposed to radiation in the line of military duty will be recognized during a National Atomic Veteran's Day of Remembrance Ceremony sponsored by the Branson Veterans Task Force at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, at the Branson Mall on Centerstage.

"We want to pay tribute to the Americans who so courageously served their country and have had to fight so hard to get the recognition and the benefits they deserve," said Tom Goldsworthy, vice chairman of the Branson Veterans Task Force. Goldsworthy will present a special message during the observance. Also assisting with the ceremony are Dr. Dale Smith, chairman of the board of the Branson Veterans Task Force, and Chuck Stanley of Branson, who will sing the National Anthem.

President George W. Bush has compared America's atomic veterans, exposed to nuclear radiation, as being just as gravely wounded as a veteran hit by an enemy projectile; both of whom were wounded while standing in harm's way to protect the national security, noted Goldsworthy.

The public is encouraged to attend the ceremony to show support for the nation’s veterans, he said.

The Branson Veterans Task Force works to promote an environment of patriotic pride and dignity to recognize and honor the Nation's veterans and their families. This is just one of the many projects the non-profit group sponsors, the largest of which is Veterans Homecoming held during Veterans Week in November. For more information contact: Branson Veterans Task Force Inc., 138 Pointe Royale Drive Suite 0 (Helms Building), Branson, MO 65615 or call 417-337-VETS.
